Concerns over local health services in West Sussex

There are concerns about the future of local health services after the Coastal West Sussex Clinical Commissioning Group – or CCG – decided to award a contract for the delivery of new musculoskeletal services.

Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust are worried it would have a detrimental impact on some of their services.

Katie Armstrong, Chief of the CCG says their decision is in the best interests of patients.

However, Chair of West Sussex Health and Adult Social Care Select Committee, Margaret Evans, says that they want further reassurances that other services will not be negatively affected.
As of yet, the contract has not been signed.
