Sussex Firefighters join rescue efforts in Nepal

Firefighters from Sussex have flown out to Nepal to help in the aftermath of the earthquakes.

6 members of the Technical Rescue Unit of West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service are part of the UK’s International Search and Rescue response.

Members of the Technical Rescue Unit, based in Horley, are responsible for the Uk’s logistics operation.  They have flown out with more than 11 tons of equipment including search cameras, listening devices, breaking and breaching tools and jacking and lifting gear.
