Gatwick Airport Employees Convicted

Fifteen Gatwick Airport workers who plotted to steal millions of pounds worth of goods from their employer, have been jailed for a total of 35 years.  Several of the workers were from Crawley and one from Lingfield.  Cigarettes, perfumes, alcohol and electrical goods worth almost two and a half million pounds were stolen.

More than 80 officers made arrests in a pre-planned day of action two years ago.  At Lewes Crown Court last week, the defendants were convicted of offences including money laundering and conspiracy to steal.
