Green Belt plans praised by Surrey branch of Protect Rural England

Green Belt plans laid out in the Government’s recently published White Paper on “Fixing the broken housing market,” have been praised by the Surrey branch of Protect Rural England.

Andy Smith the area’s director, writing in the magazine Surrey Life, says it’s a massive reassurance for everyone who cherishes the countryside and will be a huge disappointment for developers who’ve been circling like vultures.

The proposals are to ensure land is built on within a set time after permission is granted and that brownfield and urban sites are developed first.
