Surrey Police says it submitted the wrong data after investigation shows it has some of the highest rates of unsolved crimes

An investigation by the BBC has found Surrey Police has some of the highest rates of unsolved crimes.

79% of criminal damage and arson cases ended with ‘no suspect identified’ while 59% of Public Order and 49% of Shoplifting cases gave the same conclusion.

The force says the data it initially gave was wrong and has now submitted the correct numbers which it says is in line with the national average.
