Proper food waste disposal could save £3 million a year

More than £3 million a year could be saved if Surrey residents properly disposed of their food waste claim the council.

If put in the right bin it can then be used to generate green electricity and make fertiliser through anaerobic digestion.

They’re urging people to use their caddy and plastic bags or liners which are collected on the same day as their rubbish or recycling.
