Mum and son seconds from being hit at crossing in Crawley

A mum from Crawley has spoken about how she had to push the pram with her 20-month-old son out the way of a car at a crossing opposite the K2 leisure centre.

Speaking to the Crawley Observer, 22-year-old Ashleigh Staunton from Broadfield, said how she was ‘seconds from being hit’ as the car braked and swerved as it lost grip.

She says the crossing is ‘regularly’ used but doesn’t have any traffic lights and now “something needs to be done.”

The Council says it encourages people to highlight any road safety concerns they have.
