Catalytic Converter Thefts In East Surrey

Surrey Police has issued crime prevention advice following a spate of catalytic converter thefts across East Surrey.

Catalytic converters, which convert harmful compounds in a car exhaust to harmless compounds, are valuable due to their palladium and platinum content. The vehicles targeted are predominantly the Toyota Prius and the Honda Jazz. Amongst the advice issued is to consider ID etching and to report suspicious activity.

Reigate resident, Emma Norrie spoke to Susy Radio’s Neil Munday about the theft of the catalytic converter from her car.
