Hospital Prosthetist Shortlisted For National Award

A prosthetist at Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead has been shortlisted for a national Our Health Heroes award. 

Dr Emma Worrell, Principal Maxillofacial Prosthetist has been shortlisted as clinical support worker of the year. The judges were interested in the national research study which Emma is leading for the Hospital, looking into comfort and outcomes for people using an artificial eye.  The hospital’s team treat around 200 patients a year who have an artificial eye.  The study has gained feedback from over a thousand people across the country through a partnership with 40 hospitals. 

The results of the study Emma is leading will be published and used to develop best practice.  Voting for the awards closes on 11th October.
