Fire crews attended a major blaze in Albert Road in Horley on Friday morning.

Six pumps attended the fire at the Albert Road Sports and Social Club which has recently been renamed the Earl Haig Social Club. The building is used by the Horley Branch of the Royal British Legion as a place to meet and hold events including the organisation of Remembrance Sunday.

Paul Grest, Vice Chair of the Royal British Legion’s Horley branch told Susy Radio how they had been affected by the fire:

The fire is not thought to be suspicious. A fire investigation is ongoing.
