Local bus routes adapted as public transport use recovers

Some bus routes around Gatwick, Redhill and Bewbush are changing tomorrow to accommodate the return of people using public transport.

Metrobus says it’s increasing the frequency of its most popular routes as the UK emerges from lockdown.

It’ll mean services will be running at over 80% of their pre-coronavirus levels.

Below are the changes:

  • Route 1 – increase in service up to every 20 minutes Monday to Saturday during the daytime.
  • Route 2 – increase in service up to every 15 minutes Monday to Saturday during the daytime. It will also be extended to K2 from this date, or when the Leisure Centre re-opens.
  • Fastway 10 – increase in service up to every 8 minutes Monday to Saturday during the daytime. Increase up to every 12 minutes on Sunday during the daytime.
  • Fastway 100 – the Monday to Saturday 0656 from Gatwick South Terminal towards Redhill will now start at Crawley Bus Station at 0655 on Monday to Friday, and at 0710 at Gatwick South Terminal on Saturday. No other change.
  • Route 200 – Additional morning journeys from Bewbush to Gatwick and afternoon journey from Gatwick to Bewbush added on Monday to Friday, and an additional afternoon journey from Horsham added on Monday to Saturday.
