Crawley Town fell to a 2-0 defeat away to Port Vale in their opening League Two fixture on Saturday.

It was bad news too in Redhill’s first game of the season in the Combined Counties Premier Division.  The Lobsters lost 2-0 to Raynes Park Vale at Kiln Brow.

Some of our local teams saw FA Cup action in the Preliminary Round at the weekend.  Both South Park and East Grinstead are through to the first round qualifying which is scheduled for 22nd September.  South Park won 2-1 away to Hythe Town, and East Grinstead won 3-2 at home to Phoenix Sports.  Horley Town lost 4-1 away to Kingstonian.  Three Bridges’ lost 4-3 on penalties away to Cobham.
