Susy Radio receives two nominations for Community Radio Awards

SUSY Radio has been shortlisted in the annual national Community Radio Awards 2020.

The station has made the shortlist, which was whittled down from more than 460 entries from 90 stations from every corner of the UK.

The station has picked up nominations in the following categories:

Live Event or Outside Broadcast of the Year sponsored by InQuality for ‘Surrey Fire And Rescue Service Open Day’ and Arts & Creative Radio of the Year sponsored by the Audio Content Fund for ‘David Jay’s Remembrance Sunday programme’.

Station Chairman, Alan Fench said,“…We are delighted to advise that Susy Radio has been nominated in two categories, so congratulations to Neil Munday, Mark Tickner, Joe Exler and Tracey Franklin and David Jay and Tim Bowling for their entries.”

Martin Steers, Awards Chair, said: “This year has been a challenge for the sector, but community radio stations have responded by stepping up engagement with their local communities, with more programming and innovative presenters across the country broadcasting from home.

“It is clear to see from this, that passionate presenters, volunteers, and staff are really there for their audiences. These local radio stations are truly at the heart of their communities.”

This year’s ceremony will be held virtually on the @CommunityRadioAwards Facebook page and YouTube channel on Saturday, December the 12th starting at 7pm.

SUSY Radio wishes both nominations the best of luck when the ceremony takes place later this month.
