Oxted Stabbing: 16 Year Old Charged With Attempted Murder

A 16 year old boy has been charged with attempted murder after a man was stabbled in the neck in Oxted on New Year’s Eve. 

The boy handed himself in to police on Thursday afternoon.  He appeared at Guildford magistrates court on Saturday and was released on conditional court bail.  Police were called to Station Road West just before 6 pm on 31st December following a serious assault.  Ten arrests have been made in connection with the incident; eight boys aged 14 to 17 and two girls both aged 14.  One of the boys has been released with no further action being taken.  The remaining eight suspects have all been released on police bail. 

The 46 year old victim received surgery after the attack and is now making a good recovery at home, although he’s very shaken after his ordeal.
