Queen’s Birthday Honours for Surrey and Sussex

Surrey and Sussex Police Officers and a Communications Professional at East Surrey Hospital have been recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List.

Chief Officer of Surrey Special Constabulary, Ken Iredale was awarded a British Empire Medal for his work on the response to the Covid-19 pandemic.  Chief Constable of Surrey Police, Gavin Stephens, and Detective Chief Superintendent Steve Rayland of Sussex Police were awarded the Queen’s Police Medal.  Inspector Chris Varrall has been awarded the MBE for his work in creating two local safeguarding projects.

Donna Webster, Deputy Head of Communications and Chair of the BAME staff network at Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, was awarded a British Empire Medal for her work in supporting staff from Black Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds.
