Teen charged in Horsham stabbing

A teenager was charged yesterday in connection with a stabbing in Horsham town centre.

A 21-year-old man was taken to hospital with multiple stab wounds after police attended a call in the early hours of October 2nd. Sussex Police said that his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

An 18-year-old from Burnham Place in Horsham, named Harvey Beckett, has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm, possession of a knife in public and possession of a Class B drug.
He has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear before Lewes Crown Court on November 5th.

Sussex Police also said, “A 19-year-old man from Horsham was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, theft by finding, possession of a Class A drug and possession of a Class B drug. He has been released on conditional bail until 2 November, pending further enquiries.
“Following enquiries, police located a fourth suspect, who was arrested in London with the assistance of the Metropolitan Police.”

The investigation is on-going, and anyone with information is urged to report it online or call 101, quoting ‘Operation Deputy’.
