Two year driving ban for man who ignored emergency road closure

A Surrey man has been given a two year driving ban after ignoring an emergency road closure near Horsham.

28-year-old Beau Feighan crossed the grass verge onto the opposing carriageway of the A24 to drive past the incident last December.

Police traced him as the registered keeper of the Citroen van and arrested him.

He pleaded guilty to dangerous driving at Crawley Magistrates Court on June 15.

As well as the driving ban, Feighan must complete 200 hours of unpaid work, rehabilitation sessions, sessions at the Thinking Skills Programme and pay total costs of £180.
