Crawley MP Calls On New PM To Boost Aviation and Tourism Recovery

Crawley’s MP, Henry Smith, has called on the new Prime Minister, Liz Truss, to back UK aviation and tourism to boost recovery from the impacts of the Covid pandemic.

The letter was organised by Henry Smith as Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for the Future of Aviation, and was signed by 55 parliamentarians.

His constituency includes Gatwick Airport where many Crawley residents’ jobs were affected by the pandemic.

The Group has called on minimum staffing levels for Border Force at UK airports, and wants to work with industry to put in place a long term skills strategy to support jobs in aviation, travel and tourism.
