Did you see a big flash in the skies in the early hours of Monday morning?

A 1m long meteoroid entered the Earth’s atmosphere over the English Channel and could be seen across Sussex.

One person who witnessed the event took to Twitter saying it “lit up the sky with a pink flash which was spectacular.”

The International Meteor Organization based in Belgium, said the object would have entered around two and a half miles from the French coast, creating a “fireball” effect.
