East Surrey Hospital has marked International Day of the Midwife by sharing news of a visit to India made by a team of their senior midwives.

The team from Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust delivered workshops in India, sharing their maternity expertise with professionals across the country.

Consultant Midwife, Kate Stringer, together with three colleagues, embarked on a two-week visit to India as part of a wider support programme.

The team met over 30 midwives from six Indian facilities and worked alongside 100 students in large public sector health facilities.
