Man Charged following Armed Robbery In Banstead

A man has been charged following an armed robbery at a post office in Banstead last month.  

A 52 year old man from Wallington was charged on Saturday.  Police would like information in relation to a second man believed to have been involved in the incident in Woodmansterne Road.  Staff were threatened with a handgun and a quantity of cash was taken.

Anyone with information should call Surrey Police on 101.

Armed robbery in Redhill

A cyclist is a suspect in a robbery in Redhill.

Tuesday around 9.30pm, a man was seen loitering outside Londis on St. Anne’s Drive.

He then entered the store and approached the cashier, demanding alcohol and cigarettes.

The cashier was threatened with a weapon.

The suspect is described as white, wearing dark clothing with a white logo on the left trouser leg, balaclava, and carrying an Adidas backpack.  He left the store on a pushbike.

Tandridge Residents Praised for Recycling

Residents in Tandridge have been praised for their recycling habits.

According to the latest government recycling figures for local councils in England in 2017-2018, Tandridge District is the joint-second highest recycling district in Surrey, and is within the top 20 of all councils which collect recycling in England.

The recycling rate for Tandridge is over 13% higher than the national average.

Serious collision in Merstham

An investigation has been launched into a serious collision in Merstham.

The incident involved a car and a pedestrian.

Emergency crews were called to Malmstone Avenue shortly before 1.30pm yesterday.  The pedestrian, a man, was taken to hospital with suspected serious injuries.

Anyone with information about the incident or has any dashcam footage is urged to contact police on 101.

Crawley Town hosted Cheltenham Town on Saturday.  The Reds have made a good start to the year as Joe Franklin reports:

In the Bostik Premier Division, Merstham gained three points winning 3-0 at home to Wingate and Finchley.

Crawley Wasps Ladies Football Club are through to the fourth round of the Women’s FA Cup after beating Coventry United 2-1 away yesterday.
