Parks In Redhill And Reigate Collect Green Flag Awards

A record number of parks and green spaces in the UK have collected a Green Flag Award including two in the Susy Radio area.  

Memorial Park in Redhill and Priory Park in Reigate have been recognised by the scheme which is a mark of a quality park or green space.  This is the second time that Memorial Park in Redhill has won the award whilst Priory Park in Reigate is collecting the award for the ninth time.

Man Stabbed In Crawley Town Centre

A man has suffered serious multiple stab wounds during an incident at The Boulevard in Crawley town centre.  

Emergency services were called to the scene late on Saturday night. The victim, a 24 year old local man, was flown to hospital by air ambulance where his condition is critical.  Police believe the suspects left the scene in a white vehicle and are appealing to anyone who may have seen it or the direction it was travelling in, to get in touch immediately.

Chief Inspector Rosie Ross said the possibility of the attack being drug related has not been ruled out.

Mobility Scooter And Car Collision In Crawley

A serious collision took place on Saturday afternoon between a mobility scooter and a car in Crawley.  

The collision happened just after 1.00 pm on Southgate Avenue. The rider of the scooter was an 80 year old local man, who was taken to hospital with serious injuries.  The driver of the car was unhurt.

Anyone who saw what happened is asked to contact Sussex Police.

New Laws Mean That Crawley BC Urges Landlords of HMOs To Register For Licences

Crawley Borough Council is urging landlords of houses in multiple occupation, or HMOs, to apply for a licence before new legislation comes into force on 1st October.  

Landlords of HMOs with five or more occupants forming two or more households, need to apply for a licence before this date. Failure to do so by Monday 1st October will be a criminal offence.  

Currently compulsory licensing only covers HMO properties of three storeys or more with five or more occupants, but the new regulations will cover all properties.
