Reds Defender Josh Yorwerth to stay at club until 2020

Crawley Town defender Josh Yorwerth has signed a new contract with the club, meaning he’ll now stay until 2020.

His previous deal was up at the end of this season, but this has now been extended by 2 years after head coach Harry Kewell says he’s shown “great hunger, desire and work ethic”.

The 22-year-old says it doesn’t really change anything at the moment as he must still keep working hard and doing his job on the pitch.

Crawley loss due to a lapse in concentration says Kewell

Crawley Town’s Head Coach Harry Kewell says the weekend’s loss to Notts County was down to a moments lapse of concentration rather than poor performance.

The Reds lost 1-0 on Saturday, but Kewell says it was because they didn’t finish chances rather than the visitors causing them trouble.

Their next game is this Saturday away to Barnet.

It’s due to a petition gaining enough signatures on the issue, meaning it can now be discussed at County Hall.

It also calls for the need to pay anyone over £50,000 a year to be examined.
