West Sussex Fire Engines To Carry Animal Oxygen Masks

Every fire engine in West Sussex will be equipped with specialist animal oxygen masks on board as standard practice.

Firefighters can use them if they need to help a pet suffering from smoke inhalation.  Two charities, Smokey Paws and the RSPCA have come together to fund the specialist kits with the aim of saving the lives of as many animals as possible.  Smokey Paws raises the money for the life-saving masks through public donations, company sponsorships and fund raising.  The RSPCA is now also helping to fund the kits in an effort to help roll them out across the country.
