Weekend Football Roundup

In football, Crawley Town suffered a fourth successive League 2 defeat at Kingsmeadow on Saturday, losing one nil to Wimbledon.

In the Ryman Premier League, Merstham lost three two away to Tonbridge Angels. In the Ryman South League, East Grinstead Town won two one to Faversham Town in their last home game of the season. South Park’s game against Walton and Hersham, and Three Bridges’ match against Folkestone Invicta, were both postponed due to waterlogged pitches.

Elsewhere, it was a one all draw for Horley Town at home to Farnham Town, and Redhill FC won two nil away to Spelthorne.

Concern for missing Crawley Man

38 year-old Leslie Turner was last seen at East Surrey Hospital in Redhill on Sunday 10th April.

Turner is known to sleep rough and concern is growing as he has failed to attend his appointments which is out of character.

He is described as white, 5′ 3″ and of slim build with brown hair.

Revised plans submitted for Meadowbank

Have your say on plans for the Meadowbank Football Ground Development in Dorking.

A revised design has been submitted and comments can be made until 21st  April.

The plans still include football facilities, soft play, cafe and toilets but the development is on a smaller footprint to those submitted and approved last year.

Fewer trees will be removed and a replanting scheme has been included.

A public drop-in session is being held at the Mole Valley District Council Pippbrook offices on 19th April from 5.15pm.

Fraud Investigation Underway in Crawley and East Grinstead

Images of two men wanted in connection with a fraud investigation in East Grinstead and Crawley have been released by Sussex Police.

Thousand of pounds worth of fuel has been obtained by the suspects using cloned fuel cards over the past few months.

A 37 year-old man from East Grinstead has been arrested on suspicion of fraud by false representation and has been released on bail.

Tributes paid to a young Oxted & Limpsfield cricketer

Oxted & Limpsfield Cricket Club have paid tribute to a member who was shot dead whilst on holiday in Trinidad.

22 year old Adrian St. John was robbed at gunpoint Sunday evening.

Adrian was captain of the Chris Gayle Academy London team and also played in the first team for Oxted & Limpsfield Cricket Club.

In a statement on the Club website, Chairman Phil Traynor has described Adrian as ‘ fun loving, friendly, cricket mad and always had a kind word for his fellow club members, even if he scarcely knew them’.
