Crawley Wasps LFC In Race For League Title

Crawley Wasps Ladies’ need just one more win from their final four games of the season to win the title, following a 6-1 victory over Cambridge United on Sunday.  

The win takes Paul Walker’s side 10 points clear of Billericay meaning they could clinch the FA Women’s National League Division 1 South East title, if they win their match against Enfield on Sunday.

Theft At Banstead Jewellers

A valuable diamond ring has been stolen from a jewellers in Banstead.  

The theft took place last Tuesday at 2 pm.  Police want to speak to two men in connection with the theft.  The first man is described as white, aged in his early 30s, around 6 feet tall, of slim build, with receding fair scruffy hair and a tidy beard.  He was wearing a black coat, green jumper, dark jeans and grey white Adidas trainers. He spoke with a local accent. The second man is described as black, also in his 30s, with dark short hair and was clean shaven.  He was wearing light coloured chinos and a black parka-style coat.

Gatwick Airport’s First School Roadshow Takes Place

Over 500 school pupils from Kent attended Gatwick Airport’s first roadshow to promote certain subjects and to inspire careers.  

The new initiative takes the airport to schools across Kent, Surrey and Sussex; 15 schools from Kent attended the first roadshow at Hadlow Rural Community School near Tonbridge last week.  The roadshows give exclusive insights into the aviation industry and form part of Gatwick’s local engagement programme which promotes the study of STEM subjects – science, technology, engineering and maths.  The roadshows link the STEM subjects with relevant job opportunities at the airport.

Easyjet, DHL and the Royal Aeronautical Society have been working on the initiative with Gatwick.

Dorking Wanderers Win Bostik Premier Division Title

Dorking Wanderers clinch the Bostik Premier League title after their 3-0 win at home to Worthing.  Dorking will be promoted to the National League South next season.

Merstham lost their league match 2-1 to Lewes at The Dripping Pan.

Crawley Town suffered an agonising home defeat against play-off chasing Forest Green Rovers on Saturday.  The Reds slip to 21st place in League 2.

Horsham are back in second place in the Bostik South East Division following their 6-1 win away to Sittingbourne.  Three Bridges gain a point from their goalless draw away to Sevenoaks Town, and East Grinstead lost 5-1 away to Phoenix Sports.08

In the Bostik South Central Division, South Park lost 3-0 at home to Westfield.

Redhill Man Jailed

A man from Redhill has been jailed in Nottingham for stabbing a teenager and robbing a 20 year old.

24 year old Joseph Lubasi attacked the 17 year old in May 2018 following an argument.

In October, he mugged a man.

However, he wasn’t satisfied with the amount of cash he was given, so he forced the man to use his bank card to buy him cigarettes at the local shop.

He’s been jailed for 13 years.
