Football Update

Merstham FC are in 16th place in the Bostik Premier Division after losing 6-2 away to Folkestone Invicta on Saturday.

In the Bostik South East Division East Grinstead won 3-2 away to second placed Hastings United.  Horsham won 4-0 at home to Whitstable. A hat trick from Connor French made it 3-0 for Three Bridges in their away match with Herne Bay.

South Park FC, Redhill and Horley’s matches were all postponed due to waterlogged pitches.

Horsham Assault over Ketchup Sachets

An argument over sachets of ketchup culminated in an assault.

Two suspects entered the Oceans Fish Bar in New Street, Horsham on November 5th.  The men were asked to leave by staff after a disagreement over paying for the ketchup and the suspects became abusive.

The men returned later, got the owner in a headlock and punched him in the face.

Both men are described as white and approximately 5ft 5 inches tall.  One man was in his early 20s, of a large build with blond curly hair. The other is of a skinny build with short brown hair and a spotty complexion.

Woman Assaulted in Crawley

An attempted robbery in Crawley has left a woman with multiple minor injuries.

The assault happened shortly after 5 o’clock Saturday afternoon between Andromda Close and Harmony Close in Bewbush.

The victim, in her 40s, was approached by two men.  One attempted to grab her handbag and the other pushed her to the floor.

The first suspect was described as white, in his late teens and wearing square-framed glasses and a black duffel coat with the hood up. The description of the second suspect is unknown.

Football Update

In League 2, Crawley Town won 3-0 at home to Crewe Alexandra on Saturday.  Josh Payne and Joe McNerney scored their first goals of the season before Dannie Bulman added a third in stoppage time.  

East Grinstead Town gained three points after beating Sittingbourne 2-1 at East Court in the Bostik South East Division.  Three Bridges lost 3-2 away to Bognor Regis Town.

Redhill remain in third place in the Combined Counties Premier Division, winning 3-2 to Hanworth Villa at Kiln Brow. Horley Town won 3-2 at home to Colliers Wood.

Two Arrested For Vehicle Interference In Horsham

Two men have been arrested for vehicle interference in Horsham.  

Officers had received a report of two men trying car door handles. Darion Bates pleaded guilty to two counts of vehicle interference at Crawley Magistrates Court on 14th November.  He was remanded in custody and is due to stand trial at Horsham Magistrates’ Court on 7th January.

A 53 year old man of no fixed address was also arrested on suspicion of vehicle interference and being equipped for the theft of a motor vehicle. He was later released under investigation.
