Protection Of Godstone Green

Godstone Parish Council has agreed to erect wooden posts round the parts of The Green that are accessible to vehicles.

The Parish Council has worked to finalise the costs and necessary arrangements to complete the project as soon as possible.

Crawley MP to Debate Foie Gras Imports

The MP for Crawley has secured a debate in the House of Commons on the issue of foie gras imports.

Although this has already been banned from production in the UK, Henry Smith is calling for an end to imports.

This debate is to be the final piece of business in the House of Commons on Wednesday 13th June.

Reigate Game Designer Is BAFTA Finalist

A teenager from Reigate is a finalist in the BAFTA Young Game Designers competition.

18 year-old Ben Dunn-Flores will find out next month if his game ‘Down The Well’ will hand him the Game Concept Award.

The nationwide competition to find the game designers of the future and honour the teachers and mentors who inspire them, was first held in 2010.

Some previous winners have gone on to release their games commercially.

The awards ceremony will be held at BAFTA’s headquarters in London on 7th July.

Hammer Attack in East Grinstead

Renewed appeals are being made for witnesses to a brutal attack on a teenager in East Grinstead.

Emergency services were called to Imberhorne Lane following reports an 18 year old man had been struck repeatedly on the head with a hammer.

The suspect is described as a white male, 5’10” tall of average to large build.  He had blond hair worn in a top knot. It is believed he took the victim’s black Adidas rucksack and headed off in the direction of the town centre via Heathcote Drive.

The victim sustained serious injuries although he remained conscious.

New Start Date Recommended for Car Park Redevelopment In Oxted

Tandridge District Council is considering a new start date for the planned redevelopment of Ellice Road car park in Oxted.

In April the Council approved a planning application for a car park with 300 spaces and two additional decks.  

A report to be presented to the Strategic and Resources Committee on Thursday, will recommend a new start date of January 2019 for the works. This will allow changes to the design and the direction of the one-way system to be considered.
