Tandridge plans for garden village

Plans for a garden village in Tandridge have taken a step closer.

Around 4,000 houses form part of the Council’s strategy which also includes a mix of affordable and starter homes, new schools, a doctor’s surgery, supermarket and investment in roads.

Around 1% of Green Belt land would need to be released for the project.  Tandridge believes without the use of this land, only a third of the housing needed could be delivered.

Areas being considered for development include Blindley Heath, Redhill Aerodrome and South Godstone.
