Man Jailed for Attempted Murder in Crawley

A man has been jailed for 20 years after being found guilty of attempted murder following a shooting in Broadfield, Crawley in July last year.

NHS staff satisfaction is high as questions continue over social care special deal

Staff at hospitals in Sussex and Surrey have highly rated their satisfaction with the local NHS Trust, putting it in the top 20% of the country.

They say they feel they’re part of a strong team providing high quality care to patients and that their role makes a difference.

It comes as the Prime Minister, Theresa May is facing accusations of giving Surrey a special deal over social care, following the scrapping referendum plans on whether to raise Council Tax by 15% to help fund it.

She’s assured the Commons no such arrangement is in place, although in leaked recordings, Surrey’s Leader, David Hodge is heard telling colleagues he’s secured a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ with ministers.

In response, he says all he’s ever wanted was the best for the people in Surrey and makes no apology about it.

Sajid Javid, the Communities Secretary, said in statement, from next year the County is taking part in a pilot scheme to allow them to fund care using business rates.
