Appeal for man with twin sister in Horsham

An investigation launched following the rape of a woman in Horsham has highlighted a man who may be able to help with enquiries.

The attack occurred the early hours of August 8th in Horsham Park.

The 21 year-old victim reported chatting with a man shortly before the incident took place.  The man indicated he had a sister, possibly a twin, and that he was staying in the North Heath area of the town.

Anyone who can identify the man is being asked to contact Sussex Police.

Grant opportunity for Young Musician in Surrey

Are you a young musician living in Surrey?

A new £2000 grant is being offered to instrumentalists aged between 5 and 17 years old playing any musical genres.

The Alan Young Award is a new fund being offered by AYM – Awards for Young Musicians, a UK arts charity.  It will be awarded to the applicant showing the most promise from Surrey.  The winner will also benefit from individually tailored support.

The deadline for applications is Friday 18 March 2016 and Awards will be announced in May 2016.    Full details of how to apply can be found at www.a-y-m.org.uk

Oxted man charged under Operation Dragonfly

On the final day of the Christmas anti drink and drug driving campaign, a man from Oxted found himself on the wrong side of the law.

Under Operation Dragonfly 20 year-old Macauley Casey was charged with drink driving, driving without a licence, driving without insurance, failing to stop at the scene of an accident and taking a vehicle without consent.

He has been released on bail to appear at Redhill Magistrates Court later this month.

Concern for missing Crawley teenager

A teenage girl from Crawley has gone missing.

15 year-old Stacey Baldwin was last seen with her friend 14 year-old Emily O’Rourke around 11.30 Saturday evening.  Both girls disappeared.

Emily has since returned home however Stacey has yet to be located.  It is thought she may be in the Croydon area.

Stacey is described as white, 5′ 9″, of large build with dark hair and was wearing light blue denim skinny jeans and a dark hooded top.

Flooding in Sussex and Surrey

Parts of the Susy area were subject to flooding over the weekend.

There was surface water in Lee Street Horley though it was passable. The river was about 2ft from bursting its banks. There was also deep surface water on the A23 Mill House Salfords.
