A22 Godstone Drainage Works

If you use the A22 Godstone By pass to go to or from work, then we have some bad news. The northbound lane of the road is now closed all day and night between the A25 roundabout and Junction 6 of the M25 until Thursday. Work will then move across to the southbound lane which will be shut completely until November the 20th.

A diversion route is in place taking traffic through Godstone.

Veteran Car Run 2015

400 veteran cars set off at daybreak on a misty Sunday morning for the annual London to Brighton Veteran Car Run.

Susy Radio 103.4 broadcast an extended breakfast show from the halfway point time control check in Crawley High Street yesterday morning.

Among the celebrity drivers Neil Munday and Natalie Osborne spoke to were Radio 2’s Chris Evans and first Ken Bruce.

Earlswood Robbery

A man’s been charged following a burglary at a house in Earlswood.

Police were called to Common Road at around 4pm last Thursday, (29 October) after a man was seen acting suspiciously in the area.

The man, Carl Andrew Tullett from South Mead was arrested and charged with burglary.

He was remanded in custody and was due to appear at South East Surrey Magistrates Court on Friday (30 October).

Football Update

Crawley Town made it four League Two wins out of five as Simon Walton’s late penalty condemned managerless York to defeat.

Midfielder Walton found the bottom corner after Sonny Bradley had been bundled over in the box by Eddie Nolan.

Elsewhere in the FA Trophy first round qualifiying round, East Grinstead Town lost 3 nil at home to Bognor Regis Town while South Park suffered a 4 nil defeat at East Thurrock United.

Meanwhile in the Ryman League, Three Bridges went down by a single goal at Guernsey.

Gymnastics coach jailed after indecent assault in Horsham

A gymnastics coach has been handed a prison sentence after being found guilty of indecent assault.

50 year-old Martin O’Hara was sentenced to a total of six years imprisonment over eight counts of sexual offences whilst working as a freelance gymnast coach between 1993 and 2001.

The two girls from Horsham were aged between 12 and 15 at the time of the assaults.
