Next Year’s Prudential Ride London Surrey

And calling all budding cyclists in Surrey – registration for next year’s Prudential Ride London Surrey 100 is open.

It opened yesterday on the Prudential Ride London Website and will remain open until the 6th January next year or until 80 000 people have signed up.

While online registration for the shorted Ride London Surrey 46 opens on the first of March next year.

Both events along with other races take place over the 29th and 30th of July 2017 and will see over 100,000 cyclist take part.

Good Start For Crawley Town

Skipper Jimmy Smith hit the winner as Crawley Town won their first match of the season on Saturday afternoon with a hard-fought one nil win at home to Wycombe

The Reds finished last season with eight successive defeats but midfielder Smith struck on 60 minutes to maintain their record of never having lost on the opening day since entering the Football League six seasons ago.

Crawley finished with 10 men after defender Andre Blackman was sent off for two yellow cards in stoppage time.

The Reds are in action again this evening (Tue 9 August) They’re away to Wolves in the first round of the EFL cup. Kick off is 7:45pm.

Football News

Crawley Town Football Club got off to a good start this season in League 2.  They won one nil at home to Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday.  The Reds’ line up included seven debutants and three making their first Football League appearances.  The Reds travel to Wolves tomorrow night.  

Merstham host Dorking Wanderers in a friendly tomorrow evening.  Their first match of the season in the Ryman Premier League will be on Saturday away to Billericay Town.

Redhill FC are through to the next round of the FA Cup after winning their Extra Preliminary round tie 4 1 against St Francis Rangers.  The match was officially a home tie but was played at Haywards Heath due to the work being done at Kiln Brow; the entire drainage system is being replaced and the pitch being re-laid.

It wasn’t such good news for Horley Town FC who are out of the FA Cup.  They lost 4 1 away to East Preston FC in their Extra Preliminary round match.
