Smallfield Firearms Incident

Three people are in custody after being arrested at a property in Smallfield on the morning of Thursday, 28 July.

30 armed response police officers attended the scene during the raid which began at 6am.

A woman in her 40s was arrested on suspicion of drugs related offences and two men, one in his 20s and another in his late teens, were arrested on suspicion of obstructing police.

A number of suspected firearms have also been recovered from the address on Careys Wood following a thorough search of the property.

During that search, no-one was located inside.

But police are looking for 57 year old Paul Hodge in connection with drugs and firearms offences.

If you do see him, do not approach him and call police immediately on 999.

Road closures were put in place for several hours while the searches took place and police remained on the scene for much of the day.

Our reporter Neil Munday popped down to see what was going on and a local Smallfield resident told him what she saw:

PHOTOS: Nutfield British Legion Summer Fete

The Nutfield British Legion Summer Fete at Priory Farm saw happy crowds enjoying traditional entertainment including a Punch and Judy show, alongside an Army cadet drill, tug of war competition and a dog show. Susy Radio were there to help everything run smoothly, with Neil Munday taking on the mc duties on site and also doing live links from the fete on air.

Visitors were able to get up close to a wide range of show features such as Llamas from Nutfield Park Farm, an artist at work and a helicopter parked on the showground. More entertainment was provided by the Showstoppers and a highly competitive dog show provided winners in the Most Handsome Stud, the Prettiest Bitch and the Golden Oldie categories.

Funds were raised for the British Legion and you can find out more about the Nutfield Branch at the Nutfield British Legion website
