A service has taken place to remember nine airmen who lost their lives in a World War II bomber crash in Reigate 80 years ago.  The service took place at the crash site on Reigate Hill last Wednesday and featured a wreath laying ceremony attended by US Air Attaché Lieutenant Colonel Dan Benson, and the head boy and head girl of the Royal Alexandra and Albert School.

The American Air Force B-17G flying fortress bomber crashed on Reigate Hill while returning from a mission over Germany on 19th March 1945.  A memorial of two wing tips, which includes fuselage from the aircraft, was placed at the site ten years ago.
