Crawley Bus Workers To Strike Over Pay

Over a thousand bus workers are set to strike in Crawley and Gatwick over pay.

Unite the Union members at Metrobus Crawley, and also Brighton Bus Company, rejected a pay offer at 3.5%.  Following a ballot to its members, workers have agreed to take strike action on the 6th and 15th October.

Unite’s Regional Officer said “unless the company comes back to the table with a dramatically improved offer” then their members “will have been left with no option but to take strike action”.

Ed Wills, managing director for Brighton & Hove and Metrobus, said two pay increases had been offered since July.
