Roadwork Restrictions Lifted at Wisley This Christmas

It’s good news for motorists this Christmas as speed restrictions around the roadworks at Junction 10 of the M25 and A3 Wisley Interchange have been lifted.

Work there has been ongoing since 2022 and is due to finish next spring after a nine-month delay due to weather conditions.

National Highways added, the lanes in both directions near the Wisley Interchange have also been restored to their full width.

Queen Victoria Hospital: Strategic Partnership With 2 Surrey NHS Trusts

Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead will follow a recommendation by its Board of Directors to form a strategic partnership with two Surrey NHS Trusts.

At a public meeting last week, the Board confirmed its intention to progress the partnership with both Royal Surrey, and Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trusts.  The proposal intends to ensure sustainability and resilience of its specialist services.

A period of mutual planning between the Boards of all three Trusts will follow in the New Year.

New Surrey Police Eastern base for Salfords

Surrey Police has purchased a new base in the East of the county; it’s located in Salfords at the Perrywood Business Park on Honeycrock Lane.

The Eastern Divisional Headquarters has been operating out of Wray Park in Reigate since the discovery of RAAC concrete at Reigate Police Station two years ago. Plans were announced last month to move the divisional HQ to a new site in Leatherhead.

There had been concerns from local residents that the move of the headquarters from Reigate to Leatherhead would mean a lack of police presence in the East of Surrey.  However the Force says the secondary site in Salfords will provide a permanent police station and front counter for the public.

It will be funded by the sale of the former Reigate Police Station.

Yellow weather warning issued for the South East

A yellow weather warning for the South East has been issued by the Met Office.

The warning predicts some disruption to travel and the possibility of flooding across East Sussex and West Sussex, as well as parts of Kent and Surrey.

A total of 15-25mm of rain is likely across the warning area, but 40-60mm may fall in some places, most likely over the Downs.

For those at risk of property flooding, the weather service recommends preparing a flood plan and an emergency flood kit.
