St Catherine’s Hospice

We visited St Catherine’s Hospice new facility at Pease Pottage and spoke with their incredible team. The interviews cover:

The background of St Catherine’s Hospice and their new facility.

Hearing memorable stories and how the team make an incredible difference to the patients in their care – patients in the hospice AND those receiving care at home.

Understanding the wide range of services the hospice provides and how this has changed over time as medical conditions have shifted.

We also hear from one of the 800 volunteers and how the community can support St Catherine’s Hospice in donating funds, volunteering time, joining one of the upcoming events (The Midnight Walk) or simply dropping in a bunch of flowers for the public areas – all massively appreciated.

STEM In The Park

Yesterday, (Saturday 18th May) STEM In The Park returned back to the Memorial Gardens, Crawley.  This free annual event attracted 4,300+ visitors last year and yesterday saw young people and adults alike being excited by Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths shows along with interactive experiments and engaging explanations by STEM communicators and educators.

Featuring a pop-up planetarium, drone flying, AI-robots and career advice from local employers & High Education Institutions. The focus was about getting children excited about STEM early in life and showing them how fun and rewarding a career in STEM sectors can be. This brilliant event was supported by Crawley Borough Council and London Gatwick and delivered by The STEM Hub.
