A huge sinkhole in Godstone is continuing to grow and swallow up more road, with Surrey County Council declaring a major incident.
The original hole first appeared on the High Street late on Monday night, growing to at least 20m long by Tuesday lunchtime.
A second opening has now appeared.
Residents have been evacuated and given temporary accommodation.
Repairs are expected to take several months.

Catherine Sayer, leader of Tandridge District Council spoke with Neil Munday to address the concerns raised by residents affected by the sinkhole incident which has now been regraded as a “significant incident” which gives the local authority more control over communications.

Neil Munday Spoke with Cllr Louise Case from Godstone Parish Council, who has become the local liaison to Tandridge District Council, about how the parish council is assisting with the ongoing support for local residents. Louise also informed us of a meeting for residents on Tuesday evening at St Nicholas`s Youth Centre in Godstone.
