Property Company Fined For Fire Safety Breaches At East Grinstead Flats

A property company has been ordered to pay over £17,000 for fire safety breaches at a block of flats in East Grinstead.

Exzact Properties Ltd were successfully prosecuted by West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service for breaching the Fire Safety Order.

Crawley Magistrates’ Court heard that the company had failed to respond to the fire service’s requests for information following an audit at Arizona House, a purpose built four-storey block of flats.

The issues included inappropriate methods of fire detection, combustible materials blocking fire escape routes, and no evidence of a fire risk assessment.
