Crawley Borough Council is conducting a Community Governance Review to gather views on whether a Town Council should be created for Crawley.
The Borough Council will cease to exist when local government is reorganised. It will be replaced by a new unitary authority in 2028 which will cover a wider area.
It’s felt that a Town Council would provide local representation and ensure that services and community facilities are managed from within Crawley.
If it were to go ahead, it would be funded through a new ‘precept’ charge added to residents’ Council Tax bills. The town council consultation is open until 1st December and can be accessed here via the Crawley Borough Council website: Crawley Town Council Consultation.
