A warning has been issued after fraudsters called people posing as Surrey Police.

Callers claiming to be 101 are using software to intentionally cover up there caller ID.

Surrey Police, said the main goal of the scammers is to trick recipients into sharing personal information or to transfer money.

The force advises the public that if they receive a call from someone claiming to be a police officer then they must take their details and call 101.
