Surrey MP accuses Surrey Police of being corrupt

A Surrey MP has accused  Surrey Police of ‘serious corruption’.

MP for Dorking and Horley, Chris Coughlan, alleged in a report that the force  tipped off suspects during a criminal misconduct in public office investigation into SEND officers at Surrey County Council.

Surrey Police says it takes all allegations about staff conduct “extremely seriously”.

It confirmed it had made a mandatory referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) after receiving two complaints.
