Horsham man convicted of historic child sex crimes

An 89-year-old man from Horsham has been convicted of multiple sex crimes against four different children.

Alan Ashton, was found guilty of 17 charges of abuse at Lewes Crown Court last Friday.

His crimes dated back 50 years, from 1976 to 2010 and only came to light when one of his victims, now an adult, reported his abuse to police.

Ashton was remanded in custody for sentencing on November 26.
