The reopening date for the Harlequin Theatre in Redhill is yet to be confirmed according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.
The theatre was closed in 2023 after reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete was found in the building.
The earliest hoped-for reopening has been 2028 but the leader of Reigate and Banstead Borough Council has said it depends on how long the operator’s fit-out work takes once the building has been made safe.
Work which is yet to begin – would last six to seven months, but this has now doubled to between 12 and 15 months.
Council leader Richard Biggs said he was confident the local authority could get an “indicative” reopening date in the next couple of months.
