Clive Hilton

Hello, I absolutely love getting out into the community and supporting local events, charities and social initiatives. January 2026 we also launched the SUSY Sunday Soapbox – bringing a balanced conversation to the topics shaping Sussex & Surrey with our diverse Roundtable.

I present SUSY Sunday Brunch 10am till Midday and other shows from time to time.

Radio, started for me as a holiday job whilst at university helping with Radio Mercury’s roadshows (back in the day where an outside-broadcast unit consisted of an articulated lorry, branded double decker busses, heavy equipment, large ariels and staging, now it fits in a rucksack).

To earn beer money as a student, I DJ’d Loughborough Students Union (2,000 capacity)… not sure £18/night would stretch that far today but I did pick up beat-mixing skills. I also did my bit with Loughborough Campus Radio (LCR).

Once I left uni, I did some work with Capital Radio and joined Radio Mercury full time till they got acquired, at which point I decided consulting & travel would be the future – which has kept be busy ever since including living for 8years in The Netherlands.

Alongside the travel, I did voluntary work in north India with a Tibetan refugee community and child protection in Thailand, which has since fuelled my interest to spotlight some incredible charities across the SUSY area.

I have been a part of SUSY ever since it first started and remember doing the breakfast show from studios in the Belfry Shopping Centre – 1996!

THANK YOU for taking the time to read my profile. If you would like to get in touch – [email protected].
