Shed Thefts in Crawley Down

Residents in the Crawley Down and Snow Hill area who own sheds and outbuildings are being advised to secure the property with appropriate lighting and alarms.

Following police enquiries, a 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary of two outbuildings in Furnace Wood, Crawley Down, last week.

Garden equipment was stolen from these buildings during the incident.

Sergeant Graeme Prentice has asked local outbuilding owners to check and make sure they are secure, to avoid this type of theft.

East Surrey Burglaries

A man has been charged in connection with seven burglary offences across East Surrey.

These include three offences at the Marks and Spencer store on Banstead High Street
which resulted in the loss of around one thousand two hundred pounds in cash as well as damage to the location.

The other offences took place in the Epsom area.

The 34-year-old who has been charged has been remanded in custody until September the 3rd when he will appear at court.

East Surrey Burglary Warning

East Surrey police have issued a warning about a rise in burglaries near the A23 corridor and in particular areas around Merstham, South Redhill, Horley and Earlswood .

Officers are reminding residents to lock-up their properties over the bank holiday weekend to prevent burglaries.

Crawley Down Shed Theft

A 20-year old Crawley Down man who police suspect of stealing garden equipment from two sheds in Furnace Wood was arrested on Wednesday.

The man has now been released on police bail until the 27th of October while enquiries continue.

Meanwhile police are reminding residents in Crawley Down and Snow Hill to ensure their sheds are secured and fitted with lighting and alarms.

Suspect Thieves Arrested at Gatwick

Two people working at Gatwick airport were arrested yesterday morning after stealing perfume and other duty free items.

The 22-year-old man and 46-year-old woman, both from Crawley, were in custody being questioned today.

Both work for a contractor based at the airport, not the site’s owner Gatwick Airport Limited.

Sussex police have also searched a house in Crawley.
