Kingswood & Epsom Burglaries

Surrey Police is appealing for witnesses following burglaries in Lower Kingswood and Epsom during the day last Sunday (12 April) which they believe are connected.

Thieves broke into a property in Reigate Hill, Lower Kingswood at around 4:25pm following the earlier theft from the house in Shawley Way Epsom where quantity of jewellery and foreign currency was stolen.

Four men were seen abandoning a stolen Mercedes AMG before leaving the scene as pillion passengers on trial bikes driven by four other men and making off towards Merstham railway station. Having arrived at the station, one of the men was arrested. Three other men ran off but two were detained a short time later and arrested on suspicion of burglary and taking a vehicle without consent.

A 21-year-old man from London was due to appear in court on Wednesday (14 April) but failed to appear and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

An 18-year-old man and a 16-year-old male youth, both from London, were interviewed and released on bail pending further enquiries.
