Horley Man Fined For Fly-Tipping

A Horley man’s been fined after pleading guilty to fly tipping.

On September 20th at Redhill Magistrates’ court, Jordan Gibson from Shipley Bridge admitted dumping waste, not being a registered carrier and failing to provide a written description of the waste.

In total he was fined £650 with costs of £384.

The waste was found in Smallfield and after examination of its contents, it was found to have come from a property in Littlehampton.

In mitigation, Gibson claimed to have given the waste to someone else to get rid of.

But people are being reminded to ensure that anyone disposing of waste for them is a registered waste carrier as they could be held responsible if the waste ends up illegally dumped.
