An 18-year-old from Crawley who is one of a new generation of social media wildlife lovers, that’s helping to challenge perceptions that teenagers are switched off from the natural world.
Mya Bambrick says she avoided telling classmates in school about her passion for birdwatching until she discovered a community of like-minded teenagers on social media that were just as passionate about wildlife as herself.

Her interest in the natural world began with trips to feed geese at a park, but it grew after receiving a camera for her tenth birthday.

Mya who will be studying ecology and wildlife conservation at Bournemouth University says, “It’s really good for your mental health, wellbeing, and makes you relaxed”.
